First aid training courses: Methodology

Our first aid awareness sessions are audience-led. Beyond the categories mentioned in the lists above, Defibrillator Service NI wants to answer the questions the participants want to ask.

Usually, we all sit around in a semi circle and depending on what is asked we have a conversational chat about how to deal with the problem.

For example, what to do if there is no first aid kit available, and there is no bandages available, we will show the participants how to use household items such as tea towels for bandages, or plastic bags/cling film for burns.

We also bring equipment and medical items, such as inhalers, epi-pens (Epinephrine auto-injector), insulin pens and so forth for the various medical conditions, and of course a defibrillator and Resusci Annie.
